Four Seasons Preferred Partner vs. Virtuoso: Which to Book for a Four Seasons Stay

Geisel Power · October 2026 · 5 min read

Both are ways to book a Four Seasons stay through a travel advisor, and both add the same amenities to it, with small differences from property to property. Preferred Partner is Four Seasons' own program, for its owned and operated hotels. Virtuoso is a global network of luxury travel agencies whose partners include Four Seasons hotels. A stay carries one set of amenities, not both. Geisel Power belongs to both programs.

What Four Seasons Preferred Partner is

Preferred Partner is Four Seasons' own program for travel advisors, at its owned and operated hotels. Four Seasons describes it as “an exclusive, invitation-only network of high-end travel consultants from around the world.” Travelers don't join it. You receive its amenities by booking through an advisor who belongs to it, and Geisel does. Some Four Seasons hotels aren't in Virtuoso; booked through her as a Preferred Partner, they still carry the amenities. Our Four Seasons Preferred Partner page lists every Four Seasons hotel we book, by region.

Four Seasons keeps the full list of benefits, including a hotel-by-hotel benefit listing, behind its advisors' sign-in.

What Preferred Partner includes

Geisel is a Preferred Partner. The package, she says, is the same as Virtuoso's, with small differences from property to property. What Four Seasons has said in public is brief. In its April 2021 newsletter for Preferred Partners, it named a complimentary daily full breakfast for two people per bedroom, and a hotel or resort credit that clients can use “towards any experience they wish”, with larger credits for higher categories of accommodation, Private Retreats included.

Four Seasons doesn't publish the amounts. Geisel's written quote states the amenities for your hotel and dates before you commit.

What Virtuoso is

Virtuoso is a network of travel agencies, not a hotel program. By its own count it has more than 20,000 advisors and partners with over 2,200 companies, among them hotels, cruise lines and tour operators. Four Seasons hotels are among those partners: our catalogue lists 57 of them, and every one carries Virtuoso amenities. Geisel Power books them as an independent affiliate of Travel Experts, Inc., a Virtuoso member agency.

What Virtuoso includes at Four Seasons

Virtuoso says its hotel benefits vary by property and generally include an upgrade on arrival if available, daily breakfast for two, early check-in or late check-out, and Virtuoso-only amenities such as spa credits. At Four Seasons the specifics usually wait for the quote. Of the 57 Four Seasons hotels we list, 55 restrict pre-booking display of their Virtuoso amenities, and Virtuoso's own page for the George V in Paris says to contact your Virtuoso advisor for details. Two hotels publish theirs for 2026:

As each hotel lists them on Virtuoso (Gresham Palace, Naples Beach Club), with the credits in US dollars or the equivalent. Perks can change from year to year; Geisel's written quote confirms the amenities for your stay.

Can one stay carry both?

No. A stay gets one set of amenities, Preferred Partner or Virtuoso, not both stacked. The two sets are the same apart from small differences from property to property, and the written quote names the one your booking carries.

How booking works, and what it costs

In both programs an advisor makes the booking and the hotel provides the amenities. With Geisel, you send the hotel, your dates and the number of guests. Within 24 hours she replies with a written quote: the room, the rate, taxes and fees, the total, the hotel's cancellation policy for that rate, and the amenities. Nothing is booked until you say yes.

The rate is the same as booking on fourseasons.com. Booking direct gets that rate without the amenities or the VIP status. There is no fee on hotel bookings: you pay the hotel directly, and the hotel pays the advisor a commission. If you book through another advisor, ask for the same things in writing: the total, the cancellation policy, the amenities, and whether they add a fee of their own.

Which one suits you

With Geisel you don't need to pick a program: she is a Preferred Partner and a Virtuoso advisor. What is worth knowing:

Send a short request with the hotel and your dates, and Geisel quotes in writing within 24 hours. She spent two decades in hotels, including a long tenure with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, before founding her own travel advisory, and she books Four Seasons as a Preferred Partner. Questions

Is Four Seasons Preferred Partner better than Virtuoso?

Neither is better on amenities: Preferred Partner's are the same as Virtuoso's, with small differences from property to property. Preferred Partner is Four Seasons' own program, for its owned and operated hotels, and it also covers Four Seasons hotels that aren't in Virtuoso.

Can I get Preferred Partner and Virtuoso amenities on the same booking?

No. A stay gets one set of amenities, not both stacked. The written quote names the set your booking carries.

Does booking a Four Seasons stay through Geisel cost more than booking direct?

No. The rate is the same as booking on fourseasons.com, and there is no fee on hotel bookings: you pay the hotel directly, and the hotel pays the advisor a commission. Booking direct gets the same rate without the amenities or the VIP status.

Why don't most Four Seasons hotels show their Virtuoso amenities online?

Most restrict pre-booking display of them: 55 of the 57 Four Seasons hotels we list do. Geisel's written quote lists the amenities before you book.

Is Geisel a Four Seasons Preferred Partner?

Yes. Geisel books Four Seasons stays as a Preferred Partner and as a Virtuoso advisor, so Four Seasons hotels that aren't in Virtuoso get the amenities too.
