About
Destination The Chedi Andermatt is a destination in itself, set deep within the Urseren Valley and surrounded by unspoiled alpine landscape. Towering peaks, deep gorges, waterfalls and mountain lakes create a sense of quiet seclusion, yet the hotel is just 1.5 hours from Zurich. In winter, Andermatt offers reliable snow across Gemsstock, Nätschen and Gütsch, appealing to both experienced skiers and those seeking a more relaxed pace in the mountains. In summer, the region opens up to hiking, biking and golf, inviting guests to explore at a slower rhythm. The area is also known for its appearance in Goldfinger and as a stop on the Glacier Express.
Accommodation The 119 rooms and suites combine alpine materials with understated Asian-inspired design. Dark wood, soft leather and warm textures create an atmosphere that feels both refined and effortlessly comfortable. Starting from 52 sqm, all rooms feature a fireplace, freestanding bathtub and private balcony, with views over the mountains, village or Schöllenen Gorge. Clean lines and thoughtful details make it easy to settle in and fully unwind.
Dining Dining is intentionally varied, with European and Asian influences. The Restaurant serves Swiss and international dishes throughout the day in an elegant yet lively setting, complemented by a distinctive cheese cellar. In the evening, The Japanese Restaurant (2 Michelin stars) offers sushi, sashimi and tempura in a more intimate atmosphere, where the focus is on precision and quality. During winter, The Chalet provides a cosy alpine experience, while The Japanese by The Chedi at Gütsch pairs exceptional cuisine with panoramic mountain views.
Services Private transfers can be arranged from Zurich, Milan, Lucerne and Buochs, and guests arriving by train are met at nearby stations. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Thoughtful touches such as ski shuttle services and a dedicated ski butler ensure a seamless and effortless stay.
Spa & Fitness The 2,400 sqm spa is designed as a tranquil retreat. It features a 35-metre indoor pool overlooking the Alps, a heated outdoor pool for year-round use, a fully equipped fitness area, and a range of wellness facilities including saunas and steam baths.
The Essence of The Chedi Blending alpine character with Asian simplicity, the hotel offers a warm, balanced atmosphere that feels both grounding and quietly luxurious, shaped by natural materials, open spaces and more than 200 fireplaces.
