About
In 1938, the Hotel La Ponche was a small tavern run by the parents of Simone Duckstein, the heart and soul of the place. From the jetty, traditional fishing boats would dock when La Ponche was just a simple fishermen's bar. Then, naturally, the stars came in the 1950s, drawn to its raw simplicity and luminous creativity. They arrived on the Train Bleu, which dropped them off, sleepy, on the platforms of Saint-Raphaël station. They came to Saint-Tropez because it was a "little paradise." Since then, the hotel has attracted a legendary cast of artists, writers, and filmmakers who have come to experience this inexhaustible source of imagination and lightheartedness that is La Ponche. To write. To love. Some even settle here. It is here that the Riviera art of living was born. The Hotel La Ponche is to Saint-Tropez what a spring is to a river. Away from the tumult of the current, it shelters in an intimate cove the origins of the city's energy and soul
