After three years of tremendous renovation, the Hotel du Palais has reopened its doors, in June 2022, enhancing the majesty and elegance of this exceptional establishment, while conserving the spirit of its prestigious 19th-century design and architecture. Hôtel du Palais was originally the imperial summer residence that Napoleon III had built in 1855 as a token of love for his wife Empress Eugenie.
The Hotel du Palais overlooks the magnificent Biarritz Beach. It is part one of the Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
The spirit of Napoleon III is present in all the 56 Suites and 86 rooms. Unique furnishings, rare paintings and refined tapestries afford a timeless charm, steeped with history. The decoration of the venue has remained intact to the delight of art enthusiasts.
The hotel offers different superb bars & restaurants:
- La Rotonde: Set within one of Biarritz’s most iconic hotels, La Rotonde offers an exceptional dining experience in an elegant historic setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the bay and the Biarritz lighthouse. Led by Chef Florent Couston and our Executive Chef Christophe Scheller, the restaurant presents refined and flavourful cuisine in perfect accord with the venue’s exceptional character.
- Terrasse & La Rotonde Brasserie : A must-visit destination to savour local cuisine while overlooking the main beach of Biarritz (opened during Spring/Summer).
- La Salon: Le Salon serves lighter meal, rare selection of teas, original blend coffees and fresh juices during the day, the contrast raises when the sunset comes. Indoor, it features cozy seating on plush club chairs and sofas where you can enjoy an afternoon tea. As soon as the weather allows it, the Terrace is the perfect place for sunsets.
- Le Sunset: An open-air oceanside restaurant serving grilled specialities and fresh seafood with stunning views over Biarritz Bay and its famous sunsets (opened during the Spring/Summer).
- Le Bar Napelon III: An elegant and intimate bar offering signature cocktails, vintage champagnes and an extensive selection of gins.
