About
Uniquely located, on the bay of Rapallo to the east and overlooking the Portofino Coast to the west, the Excelsior Palace Portofino Coast has been restored to its turn-of-the-century glory when it formed an obligatory staging-post for the international beau monde. Close to the Porto Carlo Riva marina, 500 metres from the city centre and the local railway station and 32 km from Genoa International Airport.
The hotel has 92 double rooms, 11 junior suites and 16 suites, most of them with sea view, mini bar, bathtub and shower, hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers, direct-dial telephones, satellite TV, private safety deposit box, room service, laundry and dry cleaning and individually controlled heat/a-c.
The Lord Byron Restaurant serves the finest Italian food and wine; the Yachting Bar is the ideal place to enjoy a cocktail, both open all year around; the Eden Roc Restaurant overlooks the sea and the Sporting Bar is by the swimming pool, both open during the summer.
Recreational facilities include a private beach with two panoramic outdoor pools and jacuzzis, individual cabanas. A new EDEN SPA - Fitness and Wellness open in May 2025 offers a new indoor pool with heated water, mirror dome, a traditional Turkish bath, one with Mediterranean essences, a Finnish sauna and a soft sauna in addition to the recently usable gym with sea view, to treatment cabins and our hairdresser.
Water aerobics lessons are available, too (exercise in water, relaxing and invigorating, suitable for everyone), that can take place in the outdoor pools, weather conditions permitting.
This major project will be completed in a close future, with an ethereal salt cave, a small hypersaline pool, a healthy area with aerosol stations using sea water and, last but not least, a 200mt promenade on the sea that reaches the sea from the wellness area.
Near the hotel is an 18-hole golf course, tennis, watersports, trekking and horse racing.
The Excelsior offers a wide variety of choice to those wishing to organize personalized parties, receptions, cocktails and refreshments, business lunches and dinners.The hotel';s terraces and reception rooms are particularly suitable for private functions and wedding receptions.The Duke of Windsor Congress Centre, with 9 meeting rooms, is equipped to serve functions for up to 450 people.
